Job Description Summary

Only materials submitted via our online application will be considered.The Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for oversight of the women’s basketball program and administering the sport in a manner that is consistent with the policies and procedures of the college, Florida College System Activities Association, the National Junior College Athletic Association, and the Central Conference. The ideal candidate will have an appropriate combination of education, training, and experience working with students. The successful candidate will have the knowledge, skills and judgment needed to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with athletes, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, coaches and community members.
Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties Include:

Teaches individual and team skill development and strategies.

Recruits qualified student-athletes to be members of our team.

Advises student-athletes and helps them register for classes, enroll in the college, and prepare for transfer.

Coaches all games and scrimmages.

Assists in the marketing and recruitment of our student-athletes to four-year schools.

Schedules regular season games, scrimmages, and practices.

Actively seeks support for the program from outside sources and/or sponsors.

Schedules all travel accommodations for road games and recruiting.

Orders all needed equipment and gear; keep an inventory.

Follows all NJCAA and FSCAA rules as applicable to the Women’s Basketball program.

Counsels team members regarding basketball, academics, and life circumstances.

Engages with the community via camps and clinics.

Engages alumni and encourages their involvement.

Follows and adheres to NJCAA, FSCAA, MFC, and Santa Fe rules and regulations.

Working knowledge of basketball skills and strategies; ability to convey them to the team.

Working knowledge of NCAA and NAIA eligibility rules as they relate to our team members moving on to four-year schools.

Working knowledge of financial aid and how it may assist our student-athletes in meeting their college costs.

Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.

Strictly honors the privacy, security, and confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal, and college regulations, policies, and procedures.

Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Athletics Director
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: A bachelor’s degree with four (4) years of related work experience. First Aid and CPR certification.
Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted. Must possess a valid Florida Driver License and be authorized to drive for the college.
Preferred: A master's degree with previous college coaching experience.
