About the Company
IdentifySensors Biologics is a leading innovator in nanotechnology and biotechnology, focused on commercializing a digital diagnostic platform called Check4. Our mission is to make a significant contribution to the diagnostic industry by offering an entirely new method of molecular detection that eliminates the need for amplification—opting instead for direct digital detection of specific gene sequences. We value curiosity, hands-on learning, and a collaborative spirit in our growing team.
Position Summary
IdentifySensors Biologics is seeking a data scientist intern to support architect, populate, and analyze a dynamic Device Master Record (DMR) system for our Check4 biosensor manufacturing platform. You will be responsible for building a scalable, queryable database that captures all ink, production, probe, sample, and test parameters—mapped to performance testing outcomes— based on our predefined schema. This role bridges materials science, bioinformatics, and manufacturing analytics, driving data-driven decisions from R&D through commercialization.
Core Job Responsibilities
Design & Implement Database: Architect and maintain a normalized DMR database schema incorporating all parameter categories (Ink, Production, Probe & Sample, Test Data, Performance Testing).

ETL & Data Integration: Build pipelines for ingesting experimental batch data across multiple domains (e.g., viscosity, screen tension, Raman spectra, XPS, RNA concentrations).

Visualization & Reporting: Develop live Tableau dashboards for tracking batch performance, sensor yield, correlation insights (e.g., ink zeta potential vs. RNA detection efficiency), and KPI trends.

Schema-Driven Analysis: Automate statistical analysis and modeling using the DMR code format Data Integrity & Traceability: Ensure traceable lineage across all test results back to their originating materials, processes, and probes using the structured ID schema.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with material scientists, molecular biologists, process engineers, and regulatory staff to ensure complete, accurate, and actionable data records.

Qualifications
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master’s in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Hands-on experience with SQL-based database design, management, and querying
• Proficiency in data visualization using Tableau or Power BI, with a focus on scientific and technical datasets
• Skilled in Python or R for statistical modeling, data processing, and batch analysis workflows

Career Path
High-performing R&D intern will gain valuable skills and insights into advanced materials research, potentially opening doors to future roles in R&D or Quality Assurance within IdentifySensors Biologics. Post-internship opportunities may include positions as R&D Associates, Quality Control Specialists, or further academic research in cutting-edge nanotechnology.
