Manufacturing Technician 2

2. Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Manufacturing and Manufacturing Supervisor, the Manufacturing Technician 2 assists in processing human perinatal tissue products using aseptic techniques, according to written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Policies. This position requires a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

3. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in processing necessary to produce and assess products for use in clinical research and clinical trials. 
• Proficiently function within an ISO Class 7 cleanroom environment, ensuring personal safety and product sterility. 
• Consistently produce accurate and clear documentation of all procedures. 
• Maintain required training and certifications.
• Perform and document autoclaving and manufacturing preparation activities.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and organizational standards of laboratory, including performing routine cleanroom cleaning events.
• Other related duties as they arise.

4. Qualifications & Experience

• Applicable experience in a clinical laboratory, hematology, blood banking, immunology, or preferably cGMP manufacturing site is required. Aseptic/cell processing and cleanroom experience essential.
• Ability to think strategically and tactically (detail-oriented) and possess analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Strong collaborative and influencing skills and ability to work well in a cross-functional, matrixed environment. 
• Strong written and oral communication skills. 
• Ability to multi-task is essential. 
• Able to work in fast paced environment at times under pressure and with tight deadlines.

5. Education
Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field preferred.

6. Work Environment

• Must maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
• May be exposed to infectious diseases transmittable through human blood, tissues, or bodily fluids. 
• Must have the ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods of time while wearing full PPE and maintaining sterile work environment. 
• Must have the ability to work with specialized lab equipment.
