Title of Position: Construction Site Supervisor

Reports to: Construction Director

Job Overview

These positions will oversee operations at one construction site at a time, while leading volunteers through the scope of work for that given day.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise construction activity during volunteer days in accordance with Alachua Habitat for Humanity plans, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Provide supervision and training to volunteers with varying skill levels on the job site.
  • Evaluate and implement good safety practices for all individuals present on the job site.
  • Monitor the safety and security of the job site at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with volunteers.
  • Inspect each phase of work to determine acceptable quality.
  • Ensure the job site is clean and equipment is securely stored at the end of each build.
  • Engage with Alachua Habitat for Humanity homeowner candidates in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Report daily progress to Construction Director at the end of each build.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Director and Construction Manager to ensure materials and service needs are provided in a timely manner to the job site, if needed.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive background in residential construction, especially with regards to craftsmanship, painting, and carpentry.
  • Construction management experience.
  • Possess the leadership skills needed to instruct volunteers of varying skill levels.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in inspecting and developing work write-ups for permitting and budgeting purposes in conjunction with the Construction Director.
  • Expected to work Saturdays, and occasional weekdays.

Pay: $22.00 per hour
