Job Title: Data Scientist – Intern; Software Engineer – Intern

Position Description:
AltaScient is an entrepreneurial venture, providing data analytics and insights for global corporations. In the area of data analytics, our offerings include supply chain risk analytics, sustainability analytics and market analytics. We are looking to hire interns to support data extraction, transformation and advanced analytics projects including AI/ML and LLMs. This will be in the semiconductor and related manufacturing sectors. This is a part-time position for 3 months, with 2 weeks as trial period.
Responsibilities: Support
Programming data extraction from multiple sources, data cleaning/transformation
Aggregating in a common storage platform (cloud and other) in readiness for analysis
Working with data analytics team
Support for developing models and systems that are scalable, and maintainable code
Good knowledge of version control and security, clear documentation
Requirements Overview:
BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or related
Overall, 6-12 months of experience in building integration, cloud systems (e.g., AWS), and data extraction from multiple sources (SQL, Excel, PDFs, HTML, social media, APIs, ERP etc.)
Coding in Python, R and utilizing APIs
Experience with database development (e.g., Amazon RDS, Snowflake) and AI models
Passionate about navigating through complex data, prototyping, and solving problems Ability to work independently and with supervision with a proven record of meeting deadlines
