Humane Society of North Central Florida and First Magnitude Brewing Company Launch 4th Annual Cover Pet Contest

Gainesville, FL – June 9, 2025– The Humane Society of North Central Florida is thrilled to once again team up with First Magnitude Brewing Company for the Fourth Annual First Magnitude Cover Pet Contest! This beloved fundraiser combines two of Gainesville’s favorite things: adorable animals and delicious craft beer.

Now through July 6, pet lovers can submit their favorite photo for a chance to have their furry friend featured on a limited-edition First Magnitude beer label — all while raising vital funds for local animals in need. Since launching the contest in 2021, this collaboration has raised nearly $90,000 for the Humane Society’s lifesaving work.

“This is one of our favorite fundraisers,” said Franziska Raeber, Director of Development. “Not only do we get to work with the incredible and fun First Magnitude team—who are steadfast animal lovers and support us in so many ways—but we often see our alumni dogs and cats striking a pose. Watching adopted animals thrive in their forever homes is so rewarding.”

All top three dogs and cats will be featured on the limited-edition beer label and receive a framed label print, while the highest-voted dog and cat will each take home the grand prize—free beer for a year, a full case of the special release, and more.
