Locally owned by the Butler family, Butler Enterprises has been in business in Gainesville for over 83 years. The Butler Shopping Center District is a commercial property management and shopping center development. We are seeking qualified candidates to join our maintenance team.
Our maintenance team ensures Butler Shopping Center District remains in excellent working condition by performing routine maintenance duties including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and basic equipment & building repairs.
PRIMARY FUNCTION (not inclusive; other duties may be assigned outside the scope of this description):
- Receive daily assignments from the Operations Manager or Assistant Operations Manager
- Perform carpentry tasks such as alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures, and furniture.
- Repair minor electrical malfunctions and install new electrical equipment.
- Perform plumbing tasks for heating, water, and sewer systems. This includes assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures, and opening clogged drains.
- Perform minor repairs and general maintenance of air conditioning systems.
- Touch-up and/or repaint rooms.
- Operate maintenance equipment such as hand saw, planer, joiner, shaper, table saw, wood lathe, drill press, sanding machine, router, and electric drill.
- Maintain tools, machinery, and other maintenance equipment to ensure they remain in good working condition.
- Mow lawns, remove weeds and brush, and other yard work.
- Assist with loading/unloading trucks and moving furniture.
- Keep maintenance areas neat and orderly.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Minimum three (3) years experience in general repairs, including one (1) year experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, and air conditioning OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must be reliable.
- Ability to perform tasks independently after being given specific instructions.
- Ability to stand, crouch, climb ladders, and other various physical demands needed to perform required manual labor functions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
